Manages the WFP´s Operation in the assigned region with the following
specific functions and responsibilities:
1. Ensures effective management of the programme activities on the achievement of the following results:
Monitors the displaced people situation in his/her region, its effects and consequences as well as the amount and characteristics of the people which requires food aid;
Monitors the nutritional and food security situation in his/her region;
Ensures that WFP´s rules and procedures are kept in the whole Operation;
Supports the focalization tool implementation in his/her region;
Ensures that projects submitted to the WFP approval fulfill the established criteria by the Operation;
Supports the coordination of dates and delivery routes with the Administrative, Financial and Assistant;
Monitors, together with co-implementers and food committees, the food arrival and verifies its quality and quantity in accordance with established instructions, delivery schedules and distribution guides;
Performs inspection to the co-implementers food stores in order to check quality, quantity and packing of food delivered by WFP;
Monitors project implementation as well as the delivery of food aid and checks registries, reports for updating the distribution plans;
Reports to the National Project Director his/her follow up actions;
Ensures the results in the established agreements with co-implementers on food handling as well as the follow-up reports;
Remuneration: SB3 (SC5 $4.300.000)
Minimum Qualifications
Education: University Degree, preferably with Social Sciences Specialization. Experience: 4 years of professional experience and three years of experience working in the field with vulnerable people. Experience in the field of humanitarian assistance specially in food security; Experience in project planning, follow-up and monitoring; experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (World, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); experience in the usage of web based systems. Desirable Knowledge and Skills: Fluency in Spanish and English.
