The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will lead and facilitate the design and implementation of a
monitoring, evaluation and learning system for CIAT Programs in the context of CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs). Knowledge and information management is a key function including generating reports and documentation of best practices in the area of area of M&E.
Responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate the design and implementation of a monitoring, evaluation and learning system for CIAT Programs/projects
Support the development and implementation of theory of change, impact pathways and corresponding progress indicators for CIAT research activities
Facilitate the establishment of baselines and timely collection, analysis and synthesis of performance data to monitor progress
Document research outcomes from CIAT research projects/ programs
Provide capacity building in M&E and results-based management to CIAT staff
Be the first point of contact for all external requests for monitoring information
Requirements
MSc/MA in social sciences, knowledge management or equivalent experience in a related field, and a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant professional experience
The ability to apply concepts of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) to change processes
Proven ability of assisting others in building their capacity on Monitoring and Evaluation.
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and analytical skills
Proven ability to initiate and refine new and complex endeavors
The ability to network with scientists and research institutions on a global scale
Experience working in multi-disciplinary and multicultural environments
Proficiency in written and oral English
Terms of employment
The position is internationally recruited and based at CIAT Offices in Palmira. The initial contract will be for two (2) years, subject to a probation period of six (6) months, and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
